Day Two

I didn't write today.

I wrote 220 yesterday.

UGH!

I went out of town to visit my friend for the day. That's my excuse.

I only work one day next week (-_-) so I will (hopefully) catch up next week.

It's just really difficult to set aside the time. I always think of other things I should be doing or things I want to do.

I think maybe I'll start setting aside a specific block of time everyday to write and not allow myself to do anything else during that time. You'd think this wouldn't really be a problem for someone who really wants to write, but it is a really big obstacle.

Any tips? Leave a comment!

Also, I have one video up on YouTube and I have a follower! I have two. But the first is a friend of mine who subscribed before I posted a video and she still doesn't know that I did. She would've mentioned it for sure. Anyway, it's just really exciting. Here's the link if you're interested.

I feel weird blogging and saying "you" and asking for comments when I know nobody's reading.

Day One

It's nearly 2 o'clock p.m. on day one of Camp NaNoWriMo and I haven't written anything for my novel. I slept until 12:30 and I work at 3:30. Let the excuses roll in:

Wednesday night I got less than 4 hours of sleep and spent all day Thursday chaperoning an amusement park trip. I was a little stressed out at times. I don't think I like being responsible for children in that kind of setting.

I don't really have time to write before work because I still have to eat and maybe, MAYBE attempt to start a vlog. I really want to vlog about this experience as well as blog, but I'm not sure I'm cut out for vlogging. And it'll probably be a little redundant. I have a feeling I'll say the same things in both.

I get off work at 9 and I don't have to wake up early tomorrow so, I know I can stay up late writing later. Especially because I'm not sure how much writing I can do tomorrow either.

I thought doing NaNoWriMo in July would be great because I'm not in school and I only work part time, but I'm not starting out very well, am I?

I hope this is not a preview of how my month is going to go.

Camp NaNoWriMo 2011!

I have never been able to fully participate in NaNoWriMo. It's my own fault. If I truly wanted to, I'm sure I would have made the time. This year, however, the good people of NaNo are starting Camp NaNoWriMo. They are having two sessions: July and August. July is the perfect month for me to attempt NaNo.

For those of you who don't really know what NaNoWriMo is, basically, it's when people all over write 50,000 words in 30 days. (31 in July or August). No editing. Just writing.

It's going to be an experience. I'm so excited to try it again. I want to be a writer and I think that just writing for 31 days will help tremendously with my journey.

I'm also planning to vlog about it, so if you prefer listening to reading, I'll put a link on the side. If I do it. Or, if that's how you found my blog then, lovely.

Here's a link if you want to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo or if you just want to learn more about it: http://www.campnanowrimo.org/

There are two days left to plan! ARGH! I'm really hoping to win this year. If anyone is participating let me know! And my NaNoWriMo name is thefaceofmoe. So friend me and we can motivate each other!
